My journey into woodworking wasn’t just about rediscovering a craft, it was about reclaiming myself. After multiple TBIs, the last in 2018, I found myself adrift, stripped of identity and purpose. But I remembered the spark I had back in high school, when sawdust felt like therapy and every cut had meaning. So I picked up my tools again. Woodworking became more than a hobby — it became a lifeline. With support from Plane Wellness and a whole lot of grit, I turned that spark into a steady flame. Now, every piece I build is part of that healing, part of that comeback.
